The past week or so we have tuned into GI Joe, Transformers and Jem and the Holograms in the mornings. Much 80's nostalgia.

It's fundamentally difficult to not take something personally and wilt slightly when some aspect of your person or persona is made fun of repeatedly in group settings. Being proud of who you are and where you are from sounds good on paper but the execution is far more difficult. I think that ability is very much age related.
