Twenty eighth

So with this post I have hit 28 out of 31 days in my daily blogging quest. I'll have to tighten that up a bit. One day a month is cool but...

I have found a new comic book podcast to take the place of Comic Geek Speak. With all the changes CGS has made those left other then Adam are really not that interesting to listen to especially a New Jersey shop owmner that has been a many recent episodes as an honorarty geek. Talking comics is cool and Stephanie Cooke is the coolest dig her muchly.

Steve Bryant got in touch with me today about a 223 page Athena Voltaire pdf I was due since supporting his kickstarter. I am beyond psyched. AV is my favorite comic book character right now.

At home downloading my AV pdf's then gonna stitch them together. Kinda excited. I've been waiting for this longer thne I can remember. 18 months maybe or longer.

Twenty seventh

No the fact that folks in the south are having difficulties isn't funny. What is funny is that those in charge seem absolutely inept to handle a situation that has happened in ths past and will in all likelyhood happen again at which point they will be equally unprepared. We here where it snows spend money on all the other road associated issues and have money for snow removal concerns. Why don't you?

Remember this the next time you assholes go to crowing about how good your weather currently is. Payback, she is a bitch.

I think it would be pretty cool to work for a non profit that was involved in providing social and cultual outlets for the residents of southern WV. Providing social media advice and GIS/Geography related advice maybe even publication production. Podcasting even.

Huntington would be a really cool place to live right now. I think they have a lot goin on that would interest Teri and I.

Finally posted the Emerald Archer episode Nick and I recorded last Saturday. Yeah, I'm a slacker.

Watching that new show The Taste, not impressed.

Twenty sixth

Went to bed early last night so I kinda through me off.

Not feeling well physically isn't improving my psychological desire to not be at work.

I really don't enjoy realising I don't know how to do a portion of my job and asking someone for help. Pride I suppose.

Since I started working here my job has become more complicated and less enjoyable on my part. Technology isn't always friendly.

Kick ass veggie soup tonite. Just a couple days left.

Grimm, Justified and Banshee, intense tv night.

Monday, January 27, 2014

Twenty fifth

Catching up on Arrow.

I'm liking being at home way more then working, that is getting to be problematic.

Caught up on True Detective.

Twenty fourth

First time on in a couple day, the internet was down.

Had probably the scariest drive due to weather I have ever had. We tried to take Nick home last night just as a snow squall hit.

Nick stayed with us and we took him home this afternoon.

We caught up on our UFC pay per view watching today. That makes two years in a row we have watched every UFC card. I kinda dig the streak.

Now we're catchin up on Grimm.

Now catchin up on this new season of Justified.

Sunday, January 26, 2014

Twenty third

Up and at work today which perhaps wasn't the best idea but it is payday so I wanted to get my check if nothing else

Dude glad I didn't go to pay my trash bill today, might have been caught up in some unpleasentness.

Thursday, January 23, 2014

Twenty second

Feeling worse today then yesterday.

Watchin Cities of the Underwold today. Or rather have it on when I wnat to pay attention to it.

Ok lets see what Appalachian Outlaws is like.

Mountain Monsters is so contrived.

Pens hockey tonite.

We cheated on our diet and got greasy spoon from the Omlette Spot.

Twenty first

Woke up feelin really bad, too bad to sit and try to focus on computer work so I called in siq today. Not really cool cause my baby Chef Teri went to work. No fun being home alone.

I seem to feel bad more days then good.

I was so out of it this morning I texted my sister instead of my supervisor for a siq day.
Watching those wierd shows that are on during the day like anciet aliens, unsealed alien files and what not.

It would be cool if I could read comic books in my dreams while asleep and remember them.

Tomatoe soup and 'slap yo momma' bisquit for lunch.

Dinner was a white bean soup.

Twenty

The Pens lost last night in glorius fashion. Fleury is not the type of goalie they need. He is the once piece missing from having a championship team and by the time they get rid of him other parts of the team will have already been dismantled.

Lunch today is some more of the White bean, kale, zuchini veggie soup from last night. It's different from our usual fair but not bad at all.

Had an excellent time recording BOOM! Addiction interview show last night.

The snow is starting to pile up. We got about 3.5 inches so far.

Dude Teri and I have a backlog of mma and genre TV we want to watch and it just keeps piling up. We at this point could probably go several years with stuff that we have already and not need to watch anything current.

I want to catch up with Marvel's Inhumanity storyline this weekend. Only 15-20 so it shouldn't be a problem.

Next up on the backlog is November 2011 as well as a bunch of books to catch up completly in my current reading. Oh and an older book so I can write my first Origins article for Comic Addiction.

There just is not enough time in the day for me right now.

We had tomatoe soup with cheesy bay bisquits. It was great. My baby, Chef Teri can cook her ass off.

Ninteen

I need to fix the tags on all of the Usagi post with character appearances.

I want to do something about MMA. I also want to blog about happening in Southern WV as noone has anything like that going on.

Just ahd a white bean and kale vegetable soup as our vegetrian month continues. I am seriously craving sugar and meat right now. only 11 days to go we'll be free by Super Bowl.

Watchin the Pens play the Panthers and gettin ready to record BOOM! Addiction tonite.

Awesome interview with the guys that are writing Hacktivist for Archaia.

Eighteen

Started the morning with an awesome breakfast from Chef Teri (see FB).

Recorded an episode of The Mighty Thorcast.

I do alot of stuff in my free time. One of the things I always enjoy the most is being able to listen to good music with my wife. We have been going through Spotify as I put together a new playlist entitled Yacht Rock and listen to the songs as I add them. Not only are the song stroking a part of my soul that i enjoy but sitting sharing with Teri just puts me in a place that I don't get to nearly enough. I need to visit it more I like how it feels.

Recorded new episode of Ronin Rabbit and Lords of Order, in the zone today I like it.

Ok Denver won so now I want Seatle to win.

Seventeen

I have lived my life with no regrets. Now that one son is out of the nest and the other is closing in on the exit I find that is no longer the case. I wonder if that is a typical parent response or just me being a sucky parent. Too late now I suppose.

Lazy day so far. Started out with bacon, egg and cheese bisquits homemade. Watching The Kitchen which has turned into our new favorite Food Network show.

Got behind so I just read yesterdays bible reading. That's the third time so far I have failed to do it on the given day. It's just so hard for me to do it.

Caught up on Almost Human, Marvel Agents of SHIELD and some Grimm then the World Series of Fighting.

Caught up on Marvel comics Infinity storyline. Some really high points and totally sucky art.

Mike is back at Tech this evening gettin ready to start his second sememster with his eyes on perhaps Psycholoy. Physics burned him out on the math.

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Fifteen

Work was blah...again.

Nick got the final paperork for his driver's liscense today. So now he's registered insured and what not. Teri and I are going to give him my car in another cople months as we paid it off this past December.

Mexican Fiesta soup for dinner and spicy vegetable for lunch both good and yummy and spicy.

I just found out that my youngest son is writing My Little Pony fanfic. I'm not sure what to think or really who to tell.

I have started my concerted Marvel catchup project but I still want to read a novel a month.

Finshing the evening with a cup of Orange Peco tea.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

Fourteen

Now it's on baby! We got the first live UFC card of the year. UFC Fight Night 35.

Why does everybody have to have female commentators now? Can we guys not just have a guys thing?

Using iJudge Fights to judge along with the fights, kinda cool I've been a member for about a year now.

Dude I've missed watchin MMA live

Had packaged miso for lunch yesterday and today, not bad.

Spicy tomatoe veggie soup for dinner. Very Yummy.

I miss listening to our homers calling the Pens.

Thirteen

I woke up this morning very much in love with a woman. It's been the same women for a few years now three of which we have been married.

Long tiresome day at work.

After a dalliance we went out to eat at the best local Chinese restaurant. It's the same place we have been to every anniversary since we were married and the place we ate after we got married so now it's a tradition.

We stopped at Starbuck's to continue our now diet evening and returned home to watch some TV.

Judge Dredd was on and Teri watched while I read a few comics. Speaking of comics I forgot to write last night because I was recording with Chris Partin and interviewing one of the writers of BOOM!'s Curse.

Twelve

Woke up this morning to a beautiful woman in my bed. I tried to remember why and it escaped me. Just lucky I guess.

She then proceeded to prepare for us a wonderful breakfast of pancakes and bacon.

The idiocy on twitter with #wvchemleak and #wvwatercrisis boggles my mind.

Panthers 49er's on the tube, whilst I catch up on 2010 comics.

Everybody in the chemical leak wants to blame the company whose chemical it was. Where is the accountability of couty and state officials that even allowed something of this nature to happen. The only mandate that company has is to make money the county state officials on the other hand have the responsibility to protect the interest of their citizens. They most obviously did not.

Chicken Barley soup for dinner, yummikins.

Denver San Diego on the tube.

Finishing up the day with a little bible reading and Chopped. All in all a quiet day.

Saturday, January 11, 2014

Eleven

Yes baby started the day with homemade bisquits and gravy.

...that feeling you get sometimes when your children do something you wonder where you went wrong and are surprised they are even yours. Being a parent is not always warm and fuzzy

Recorded Emerald Archer, nice to get one in the can. Still have the books for another one.

At one point today I was tracking the WVU men's basketball game on the iPad had NFL playoff football on the TV and a K-1 card going off live on the laptop. I kinda like watching sports.

Chicken barley soup for dinner it was trey yummy.

Now flipping between a second NFL playoff game and the pens playing in Calgary. Plus I'm reading some comics from 2010 trying to catch up to the beginning of 2012. I have now actually fallen behind the current books yet again.

Hit my bible reading for the day.

Friday, January 10, 2014

Ten

The day started out with more information about a chemical spill into the Elk River that flows into the Kanawha River just upstream of the muninciple water intake. Boy all hell broke loose today and I watched it go down on Facebook and twitter. fascinating thing to watch and really shows just how useful twitter can be given the right situation.

Watched a press conference all the way through for the first time in years today. #proudofmyself

Lunch was a chciken veggie soup that was delish.

Catchin up on some Bellator.

Gonna read some bible and then hit the sack.

Thursday, January 9, 2014

Nine

Work blah blah blah.

I will say that the West Virginia child support withholding apparatus is the most innane human mechanism I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. Not only that but I firmly believe they also employ some of the least intelligent people I have ever interacted with.

Lunch was the rest of the meatless chilli, hotter then yesterday.

I want to be a maker. I want to add to the creation of things. I podcast, over 100 last year alone.

Many of the Image Expo announcements look like books I'll give a try.

Finshed another short story in Carniepunk and my bible reading for the night.

Intersting discussion with Chef Teri anout autobiographies, memoirs and fiction. I feel all educated and shit.

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

Eight

Boring day at work, next.

Lunch was a meatless chilli prepared by Chef Teri. It was good if not a little hot. Well no not a litte right at the end of what I can comfortably eat actually. We have some more for me tomorrow, yummo.

Looking through my various digital collections I realized I dumped one that I had been working on for years. It is possible to reconstruct what I threw out but it would not be worth the effort to reaquire said compenents. Cleaning out can take many different forms.

After a dinner of some killer potato soup Teri and I snuggled in and watched some Seton Hall Villanova Big East conference play. This time of year is the best college basketball, conference play on the way to the dance. March madness babyyyyyy!!

Mrk Henry's short story in Carnipunk was trey wierd.

Bal Arneson's new show is odd to me. Does she really cook with all those spices or is she trying because of the show?

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Seven

Whatever is beyond cold is what it was like when I went outside this morning to warm up the cars. On top of that the heat at work was broken discovered by a comparison of the other end of the building with my office and the 20+ difference in temperature.

Lunch was the rest of the Chicken Barley soup from the other night. Still yummy.

I found out today that one of my favorite Urban Fantasy podcasts has closed up shop. It makes me want to come out with one of my own but I went through too many podcast syndrome last year and don't want to fall into it again.

I was dissapointed to hear the Auburn lost the national championship game last night. Florida State was not the better team in my opinion. Not to mentin their quarterback/Heisman winner is a rapist.

It seems I have turned to twitter for my more philosophical thoughts and Facebook for my long from bitching.

Dinner was a meatless chilli that lit this white boi up! It was muy tasty.

Now I sit blogging and sorting through the novels digitized in the month of December. Over eight and a half gigs of files that I sort through for stuff from any of 250 or so authors of of a set number of titles.

Monday, January 6, 2014

Six

Ok I know the temps to start of the day are not what is considered temperate, what the hell!

Breakfast today had the most meat and most carbs of any meal today and probably will for most days during the month of January. My start weight for this little experiment was 303 so we will see if it was worth it. Already a planned day off on the 14th because it is the anniversary of me and my beautiful bride Teri. We ate our wedding dinner at a local Chinese place and have kept up the tradition since.

Work continues to be an irritating mess of knowledge that I have yet to come to grips with. I will but until then my latest projects are muchly works in progress.

Lunch was Chicken Lentil soup. Yummy this broth soup things hasn't been too bad.

Lead up to the BCS Championship game on ESPN has Tim Tebow and Nick Saban. Two of my favorite football personalities, I'm jazzed.

Dinner was a veggie tofu soup. Tofu isn't the bestest tasting thing ever but it's workable and very adaptive as to what you put it in. Fried up before hand it's not too bad.

Ugh I really dislike Brent Musberger's commentating. He and Herbstreet and calling the game.

I casted my votes for the World Mixed Martial Arts awards. Lots of good stuff to choose from and some cheeze.

I decided for the first time to listen to one of my favorite podcasts live. Pro WMMA Live.

Auburn is dealin some stuff to Florida State. 21-10 at halftime.

Sunday, January 5, 2014

...and Five is right out!

Started off the day by sleeping in till 9am. Man that was much needed. Not sure why I can't do that every time I get the chance. A dalyance later and the day began.

Teri and I recorded a Mighty Thorcast, watched the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special and recorded a Dance Fevre as well.

Got my bible reading in for today. 5 days and still going. I only managed about a month last year and got behind finally quitting even worrying about doing it.

Lunch/dinner is a tomatoe lentil soup based on a rusticy Italian recipe. The month of broths continues. Our thoughts are to eat only soups/broths that are low carb and meat free in order to kick start our weight lose goals for the year. Last year I lost 35 lbs and managed to keep off 30 after the holidays.

The Pittsburgh Penguins would be a much more complete team if they got rid of Marc Andre Fleury in goal. He is not the kind of goalie that can win a game on the occasions that's what the Pens need. The only reason his numbers are what they are is that the Pens can score 4,5,6 goals when need be, like today. They beat the Winnipeg Jets 6-5. The were down 2-0, went up 5-2, lost the lead at 5-5 and then won it with a couple minutes remaining. No one officially that covers the team seems to view him as the liability that I do. Perhaps I'm wrong, I would love to seem him go away and find out.

Split time with the Pens game and the Cincinatti San Diego game.

Now we're on to the San Franciso Green Bay playoff game at the Frozen Tundra.

Watching my brother and sister butt heads on Facebook as kinda funny.

Waiting for the GoDaddy.com bowl to start watching a Cooking Network show abour food trucks. I wish we had a scene around here but nope not in BFE.

Man iTunes podcast side is a total pile of slimy, fly blown shit! On that pissy note I'm out.

Saturday, January 4, 2014

Four

Man it's sweet gettin to sleep late. Wes stayeed up for some reason until after midnighte last night, not sure why.

Chef Moore prepared her take on Egg McMuffins for us for breakfast this morning. It was far better then anything any McRestaurant can make.

Lots of football pregame today first for the playoffs then for the Bowl game. Plus we caught a new food network show called the Kitchen which I would recommend if you are a fan of Jeff Mauro he did a good job.

I reorganized my kindle books trying to get a better handle on what I have so as to know what to keep an eye out for in the future. Which prompted me to order a couple things for us from Amazon that we had been wanting. Teri wanted a desk calendar for work and I wanted a particular newly published D Who book of a series.

Teri kept up with today's bowl games but I transitioned to some MMA I had backed up from this past fall I wanted to watch. Bellator might not be the premier organization but it's entertaining enough for me.

I'm kicking around an idea to blog about Southern WV happenings in some way not sure what exactly I want to do.

I finished an Iron Druid story in the Craniepunk anthology. I believe Kevin Hearne will be my next stop after I finsh Carniepunk.

Friday, January 3, 2014

...and the number shall be Three.

Woke up to some bitter ass this ain't a temperate zone cold this morning. My office at work is on the outer edge of a building with poor heating. Even with a hoodie and winter socks on my nose stayed cold the entire day.

Teri made some spicy tomatoey soup for our Month of broths day 2.

The laundromat was fairly unoccupied. I commenorated the trip on Facebook.

I wonder what I could have done to have developed a better bond with Mike my oldest. He's 18 and very much his own person but the last 5 or so years and we have not been in the same neighborhood. It more then eats at me that my baby and I don't see very eye to eye. His brother is two years younger so most of what I learned about being a dad was by trying to be one for Mike. Not sure at this point what it will take except maybe time.

Watchung the Discover Orange Bowl between Ohio State and Clemson trying not to think about it.

I have finished my bible reading for the day, read some prose and got a man juice shot at the dr's office so I guess the day was productive. I signed for my local library's 2014 reading challeneg in support of their 100 year anniversary. They are giving away monthly gifts, I doubt I'll read enough but we'll see.

Thursday, January 2, 2014

The Second

Very frustrating day at work today. I have been trying to figure out how to merge two computer files of the same type in a way that should work, it hasn't. Ask for help, follow given directions, doesn't work. Try another way that should work, doesn't work. Very frustrating day at work.

I am the non custodial parent of two teenage boys. It always hurts when my visitation occurs and one of the two dosen't want to come over. Why's and wherefores wouldn't change the sting so you just buck up for the other and soldier on. One or both a fun time is always had. I would hang with both of them on my own if I was their age, but I still wince at the thought that one now doesn't want to spend time with his dad.

Tonite was the official start of the Month of Broths. http://somemoorecooking.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-beginnings-of-great-soup-diet.html was the first offering and it was delicious. My wife can do many things, most I can't talk about but man she can cook!

Nick didn't want soup so we ran out and he got his first Sheets burger. I have no idea why but that was what he wanted.

Nasty roads takin Nick home but a fun time was apparently had by all.

Been spending free time today trying to put to paper the things I want to try to accompish short and long term this year. I didn't realize there were so many things I wnated to do that I wasn't.

The First

Once more I want to endeavor to post daily as just a flush of thoughts. This time I will post on the previous day.

Teri and I both managed to get the day off which was cool because she doesn't nearly have the Holidays available that I do.

The day started off with a wonderufl breakfast prepared by my wife. (http://somemoorecooking.blogspot.com/). We had bisquits, scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns. Man I can't believe I ever spent time with women who did not cook.

A little college football followed by a trip to walmart to stock up on things used during the past two weeks of holiday cooking and whatnot. I admit this was not nearly as bad as I though it would be. My desire to spend time around people diminishes all the time and going out anymore except traveling with my wife is not a favorite of mine.

Back at the crib we discussed our 'month of broth' we are embarking on to try and jump start our weight loss goals for the year. This past year I lost as much as 35 lbs and managed to keep most of it off. Not being the excercising type I worry I may have to add that to my quasi daily regime in order to reduce the 'fatie'.

More college football, prose reading (I have a goal of 12 novels this year. It may not seem like much but with the volume of comics I read it's tough. Carniepunk an Urban Fantasyish anthology is first up.) assorting through my digital comis and then another excellent meal from the wife. This time her take on http://somemoorecooking.blogspot.com/2012/05/my-beautiful-sister-got-us-wok-for.html Kung Pao Beef, dang!!

I have come to the conclusion that I do not like when folks take liberties singing my national anthem. If you want to whore your voice go do it on iTunes as that is what it's there for. Show the respect it deserves and sing the anthem as written. Just because it's 'commons' doesn't mean you can do with it as you wish.

A short dallyance (yes that's a euphemism) and we hit the sack a bit earlier then usual to rest up for a long day of work on Thursday.
